How Is Lodestar Endeavouring To Make A Difference?
Lodestar was founded to provide assistance and support to busy businesses and people. It is also a platform to encourage people to think more about the effects of what they do, from their daily lives to the office, from business meetings to weddings.

It is believed that changes in our approach towards our resources and how we use them, which are now under way globally, are giving rise to the sixth major wave of innovation since the start of the industrial revolution. This sixth wave taps green chemistry, biomimicry, industrial ecology and other sustainability innovations. More efficient and cost-effective use of resources is the key to producing goods and services more sustainably.
We don't know where this wave may lead us and there is much work to be done, but it would appear the changes are occurring none too soon.
By providing the services in the way that we do, we hope to help generate such interest within our community to use our natural resources more wisely and efficiently, that people will take up the challenges that face us today, embracing and effecting change in all areas of their lives, and making a real difference.
Lodestar Administration & Events is working hard towards achieving appropriate environmental certification so that you can have even greater confidence in our systems. Our administrative services are also guided by the Australian Ecolabel Program Good Environmental Choice Australia Standard for Services - Administrative Services.
Lodestar Administration & Events is also a graduate of the 2008 Smartgreen program, a comprehensive green entrepreneurship training and mentoring program. The course was run by the University of Ballarat and was designed around the premise that adopting environmental sustainability can be profitable for business.
The Smartgreen program is a hands-on approach to growing business in a sustainable way. It assists with identifying sustainability strategies and recognising growth opportunities that can come about by adopting a more efficient and effective business model. Taking an innovative approach, the program looks at problems as opportunities and helps develop entrepreneurial skills.
The program builds on established business and sustainability objectives to provide training in a range of practical and experiential business growth and sustainability skills.
Program participants work towards a Green Cluster Code of Practice. Signatories to the Code are committed to:
* Business growth through environmental sustainability
* Community Partnerships
* Integrated Resource Management
* Innovation
* Continuous improvement and change
The Green Cluster Code of Practice is aligned with existing environmental management approaches and designed to provide firms with a solid base towards future accreditation such as ISO 14000, 14080 and 14068.
Complementing Lodestar's suite of services to you, our efforts are directed towards:
* Source products/services from suppliers who actively support sustainability themselves;
* Actively promote the use of systems that are sustainable and encourage the uptake of sustainability principles by the community wherever possible;
* Achieving appropriate environmental certifications and accreditations;
* Being instrumental in raising awareness of local and global issues in the community;
* Engaging and empowering organisations and the community at large to act on environmental issues, particularly in the local region;
* Being open to partnerships with other organisations and service providers to achieve its aims within the community;
* Actively recognising clients who have succeeded in reducing their impact on the environment;
* As a community member, Lodestar will always embrace and promote ethical procurement and business practices and actively contributes to the community through ethical and sustainable sponsorships, memberships and voluntary work.
Endeavour To Always Make A Difference.
